11 Okt Open Call International Exhibition GARIS 2023

The Global Artworks and Ideas Showcase (GARIS) is now entering its third year in 2023. ✨️

This year, GARIS will hold an international exhibition and webinar with the theme Digital Culture Interception in Photography . Like the previous event, the outline of this exhibition and webinar is University UiTM Malaysia as an international partner and main partner of the Fine Arts Study Program, School of Creative Industries, Telkom University as the organizer of this event.

The objective is to conduct a comprehensive exploration of the collaborative potential between photography and the digital realm. The exhibition aspires to pave the way for novel discussions among artists, curators, panelists, and participants, with a specific focus on delineating the profound impact of the digital sphere on the domain of art, particularly within fine arts institutions.
 
This international exhibition endeavors to present photography not only as an artistic medium and a bearer of ideas, but also as a mode of creative communication. The showcased works are anticipated to showcase the distinct characteristics and interference brought about by digital imaging within academic and art institutions across diverse nations. These emergent attributes will form the foundation for a meticulously structured panel discussion to be held in the form of a webinar. Esteemed individuals such as Prof. Dr. Yasraf Amir Piliang, M.A., from Bandung Institute of Technology, Prof. Madya Dr. Mumtaz Mokhtar from UiTM Malaysia, and Dr. Vichaya “Win” Mukdamanee from Silpakorn University will participate in this discussion.
